Educational 人才搜索

The Center for Pre-College Programs is a proud partner of the federally funded Educational 人才搜索, which encourages youths to take an active interest in developing and pursuing academic, 职业生涯, and personal goals.

We provide students with the skills and motivation needed to achieve academic success, graduate from middle and high school, and eventually enter college, 中等专业学校, or some form of postsecondary training.

Middle school students work to prepare for high school and high school students work to prepare for college or a 职业生涯 of their choice. It is the intent of the program to have the student enroll in 人才搜索 as a 6th grader and continue in the program until high school graduation. 人才搜索 also provides services to students who are interested in obtaining a GED and assists students and young adults with reentering high school or college. Through the combined efforts of our 人才搜索 staff, Newark Public Schools, 父母, 和学生, our program participants will get an important head start on learning about college and 职业生涯 opportunities.

资格

Our program services are offered to middle school students between the 6th and 8th grades, and high school students between the 9th and 12th grades. Young adults no older than 27 years of age are also eligible for our services. Program participants are primarily students who fall under the low-income guidelines and are first-generation college students (meaning their 父母 did not graduate from a 4-year college). Completion of an application packet is also necessary.

How can 人才搜索 help you?

  • Fall and Spring PARCC and SAT Exam Preparation Course
    PARCC and SAT exam preparation is offered during the fall and spring semesters, with an emphasis on test-taking skills.
  • 4- or 6-Week Summer Enrichment Program
    A nonresidential program structured around basic math and English skills and preparation for the PARCC and SAT exams is offered in the summer. Students develop test-taking skills and participate in computer classes, 研讨会, 和文化, 社会, and recreational activities.
  • 教程服务
    人才搜索 offers a tutoring program that has an emphasis on math, English, and science. It runs throughout the school year and provides students with the opportunity to receive individual attention.
  • 咨询服务
    A 人才搜索 counselor is available for academic, personal, and 职业生涯 counseling year-round.
  • Financial Aid Service
    Counselors are available to provide students with information about obtaining financial aid and assist with filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form. Information about scholarships is also provided.
  • College Tours and Cultural Trips
    Outings are offered to expose students to various institutions of higher education and enrich students' minds.

You can enroll in 人才搜索 by downloading the application, obtaining an application packet through your school guidance counselor, or contacting our office. Complete and return all four parts of the application packet:

  • 人才搜索 Application
  • Initial Contact Form
  • Income Verification Form
  • Transcript Release Form and your latest report card
